SWAN French ANTIQUE Special Art Nouveau Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Gold Platinum Ring Figural
ABOUT:
Such graceful movement to this figural swan ring with outstretched wings above an openwork draping background. It has a chunky little old mine cut diamond in the bezel at its feet. This Paris find is just an amazing example of French Art Nouveau / Belle Époque jewelry.
Throughout time, the swan has signified many things: loyalty, strength, grace, purity, beauty, transformation, love and fidelity, and even as a luxury status symbol when it was used frequently by the aristocracy.
This one has that perfect amount of antique wear and patina with a soft buttery glow. It bears the French hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum which tops the diamond bezel.
Antique box in photos is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5, ring face is 23mm north south by 14mm wide, weight is 4.8g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The shank is a bit thin at the back and slightly curved. The little diamond has nicks including a linear crevice along one facet but it is a small stone so it is barely eye visible if you catch the surface of the facets in a reflection. There is solder at each shoulder - I don't know if it was reshanked or if this was done in a sizing. It is quite smooth and doesn't glaringly affect the detail but there is a different in hue there. Uniform surface wear but still very legible and obvious, the design.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
